Entrepreneur Richard Johnson makes a generous donation to Pender Arts Council to support arts programming in Pender County.
Entrepreneur Richard Johnson, on behalf of his organizations, Burgaw Now and Own Your Own, has presented Pender Arts Council of Pender County with a $25,000 donation.
The Burgaw Now and Own Your Own organizations lead and support revitalization efforts by providing economic growth and development in historic downtown Burgaw through the start of new business ventures.
“With a connection and passion to support the arts, I wanted to contribute to the local community’s economic, educational and cultural vitality through the Pender Arts Council,” Johnson says.
The generous donation was presented to the arts council in order to further its mission to continue providing a range of arts, art-related programs and more to the Burgaw community while supporting the diverse arts cultures throughout Pender County.
“We are grateful for the support of our local arts council,” says Pender Arts Council President Austin Gaskins. “This funding will allow the arts council to support local artists while integrating more art-related events, activities, programs and exhibits.”
Pender Arts Council looks to grow its support of the arts in partnership with local artists, local art organizations and many local organizations that use the arts to make our communities stronger.
