Pender County Board of Education extends Superintendent Hill’s contract through 2024.
Pender County Board of Education unanimously voted to extend Superintendent Dr. Steven Hill’s contract for three additional years. Hill, who joined Pender County Schools in October 2017, is now under contract through June 30, 2024.
Following the vote, board members expressed appreciation for how Hill has handled numerous external challenges since his arrival, including Hurricane Florence and the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We all are in agreement that [the board does] appreciate all that you continue to do for our school system, and especially this year,” Board Chair Cindy Fontana told Hill. “We know how difficult it has been, so thank you.”
