Dr. James Manning, an experienced internist, will celebrate the grand opening of his new Hampstead Internal Medicine office on October 23.
Situated at 16747 US Hwy 17 in the Oak Tree Plaza, Dr. Manning provides “traditional service and cutting-edge primary care.”
“I’ve been a Hampstead resident for a decade,” Dr. Manning stated. “My wife, Tina, and I raised our family here. As Hampstead grows, I recognized the need for an internal medicine practice.”
Dr. Manning brings a distinguished healthcare career to Hampstead, with roles including Chief of Staff at ECU Beaufort Hospital and teaching at Eastern Carolina University. He emphasizes teaching doctors to communicate effectively with patients and families.
“In addition to teaching, I established and managed medical programs in multiple hospitals, including ECU Beaufort, ECU Medical Center, Lenoir Hospital, and Chowan Hospital. During the COVID pandemic, I worked in several hospital Intensive Care Units,” Dr. Manning noted. “But my lifelong goal has been to open a primary care practice.”
In Hampstead, he plans to apply the principles he taught, focusing on getting to know his patients and offering in-house lab services for quick blood work.
Dr. Manning specializes in caring for patients with complex diseases like diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart failure. “If you’re struggling with medication or managing chronic diseases, don’t hesitate to contact us,” he advised.
Hampstead Internal Medicine welcomes Medicare patients and most insurance types. “Since we’re a new practice, we have available appointments, usually within a week for new patients, and same-day or next business day appointments for established patients,” Dr. Manning highlighted. Many patients qualify for extra services like a care management program, often covered by Medicare.
Working with Dr. Manning is Holly Kilian FNP, a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner, and a UNCW graduate.
Dr. Manning, originally from Beulaville, worked in a local pharmacy during high school and graduated from medical school at UNC-Chapel Hill.
