Poplar Grove has a fun lineup of events on its 2023 calendar.
Poplar Grove Plantation is more than a historic house museum. It’s also the site for many public events.
31st Annual Herb and Garden Fair
April 1 and 2
Celebrate the beginning of spring with a two-day event featuring some of our state’s best herb and plant vendors, garden art creators and farmers as well as local artisans handcrafting all your essential needs and must haves! With 13 acres to explore, the kids will have tons to do too. The show runs Saturday, April 1 from 9 am to 5 pm and Sunday, April 2 from 10 am to 4 pm. Admission is $5 for adults, and kids 12 and younger get in free. Proceeds benefit the conservation and preservation of Historic Poplar Grove. For vendor information, contact Suzette Cooper-Hawley at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Poplar Grove Farmers’ Market
Every Wednesday from April 12 to September 27
Under the shade of the magnolias and oaks of Historic Poplar Grove is one of Wilmington’s longest running Farmers’ Markets. Stroll the grounds, order a specialty coffee or icy cold lemonade and shop for farm fresh fruits, vegetables, plants, flowers, food and beverages of all types as well as artisan crafted goods. The market is family and dog friendly. The 1850s manor house is open for tours on the hour, and the lower grounds are free to visit including the basket gallery, agricultural museum and stables. The market runs every Wednesday from 8 am to 1 pm from April 12 until September 27 for the 2023 season.
